서울에서 거주하며 다양한 도시에서 활동
GR1 focuses on the conflicts that arise within cultural, social, and political contexts and the subsequent hidden traces and byproducts. Drawing inspiration from street art and subcultures, particularly graffiti, he reinterprets urban spaces and reveals the layered tensions and fractures embedded within them through various media, including painting, sculpture, video, and installation. By collecting and reconfiguring invisible images found in abandoned urban locations or digital environments, he encourages viewers to actively discover new meanings at the boundary between reality and the virtual, which characterizes his work.
지알원은 문화, 사회, 정치적 맥락에서 발생하는 충돌과 그 이후, 보이지 않는 흔적·부산물에 주목한다. 거리예술과 하위문화, 특히 그래피티로부터 영감을 받아 도시 공간을 재해석하고, 그 속에 스며든 다양한 층위의 갈등과 균열을 회화, 조각, 영상, 설치 등의 매체로 드러낸다. 도시의 유기된 장소나 디지털 환경에서 포착한 비가시적 이미지를 수집·재구성함으로써, 관객이 현실과 가상의 경계에서 새로운 의미를 능동적으로 발견하도록 유도하는 것이 작업의 특징이다.
